Manchester United have targeted the signing of Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale with the Old Trafford club being heavily linked with the Wales international throughout the ongoing summer transfer window.
With only three days remaining in the closure of the summer transfer window, a Spanish source has reported news that will no doubt excite the United faithful.
According to Don Balon, the Red Devils have lodged a club record offer of 100 million euros ($119million) to sign the Bale. It is mentioned that is the European Champions are deeply divided on whether to accept the offer.
The three time Champions League winner endured an injury hit campaign last season in which registered a measly 17 league appearances.
However, Bale has managed to maintain his fitness going in to the new season. The Galactico has featured in 3 matches so far for Madrid, scoring 1 goal and registering 2 assists for Zinedine Zidane’s side.
United have been in search of a wide player this summer and a player of Bale’s calibre would largely improve Jose Mourinho’s attack. Bale’s current deal with Real Madrid stand at £350,000-a-week and runs until 2022, according to the Guardian.
