Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho signed Frenchman Raphael Varane for Real Madrid when he was in charge of the Spanish club and together they won the La Liga title in 2012.
Few days back, report according to Don Balon claimed that Mourinho is taking advantage of the current crisis situation at Madrid to sign Varane.
The Portuguese tactician has tried to sign the French defender as well and now, as per the latest update provided by the Spanish source, the former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss is prepared to let David De Gea join Real Madrid but in return he wants Varane to boost his back line.
The 24-year-old center-back has won every major Spanish title with Real Madrid, including three Champions League titles. This season, Varane has mainly been on the treatment table and in his absence, the Los Blancos defense has been really weak.
The Les Bleus star signed a new long term deal with Real Madrid back in September, which will expire in 2022 and has a huge release clause of €200million in current deal with the reigning European champions.
