Manchester United are set to go head-to-head with French giants Paris Saint-Germain with the pair looking to sign two of the biggest football talents current plying his trade with Real Madrid.
Italian football media CalcioMercato have cited a report from Spanish outlet El Chiringuito that suggest the Ligue 1 giants will look to bring both Toni Kroos and Jan Oblak to the French capital, but suggest that they will face strong competition to sign both stars from Manchester United.
Kroos has impressed since signing joining Real Madrid from Bayern Munich in 2014 and has since won the Champions League twice while at the Bernabeu alongside clinging the La Liga title last season.
The German understandably raised his profile after he won the World Cup with Germany in 2014 and has since been touted by many top European clubs as one of the most impressive midfielders in world football.
However, the recent emergence of Casemiro into the Madrid team in the last two seasons has seen him move down the pecking order. Combined with the brilliant fine form of Luka Modric, Kroos has at times found himself on the bench in big games. A switch away next summer could end these troubles but it is likely to become a heated transfer saga if both the Red Devils and PSG are involved.
On the other hand, Jan Oblak has recently attracted interest from Manchester United according to the previously mentioned Italian outlet. It would appear that the Red Devils are eyeing Oblak as a possible replacement for their current number one David De Gea if he was to leave the club next summer. Jan Oblak has been he top for form the Los Rojiblancos as the £25,641-a-week goalie brilliant performance between the sticks has helped Diego Simeone’s side.
However, once again the Reds will have to deal with strong competition to secure a signature with PSG also interested in acquiring Oblak’s services.
