Manchester United may have been served a decisive blow in their pursuit of signing Atletico Madrid’s striker Antoine Griezmann after the Frenchman admits his future is with the La Liga giants.
The French No. 7 has been heavily linked with a world record move to Manchester United this season after being emerged as Jose Mourinho top transfer target.
The Rojiblancos have no interest in parting with their star man yet but realize they would be powerless in stopping him from leaving Vicente Calderon Stadium.
However, Diego Simeone’s side have perhaps been given the biggest hint that the French forward will turn down the chance to leave the club after making it obvious that his future is with the club.
“Yes, I am very comfortable here and now [Atletico president] Miguel Angel Gil Marin has to speak with my agent and we will see what we can do but I don’t see beyond the next game,” he told Cadena Ser, via Football Espana.
“I continue at Atletico because I am happy. If I am happy in my personal life I will be happy in the profession. I love Simeone and I love my friends.
“I want titles, it’s what I want and what I lack. Not individual titles but titles with the team. We want to improve and we are doing it with Cholo and the rest of my teammates.

“My future is not linked to Cholo. I don’t think that if he leaves, I will go. It’s true that last year I called him before signing a new deal because I wanted to continue working with him. The club needs it and I saw that I needed it too.”
Despite the uncertainly surrounding his future with Atletico, Griezmann has still enjoyed anther successful season for the Madrid side although it ended in being dumped out of the Champions League for the fourth season in a row to reigning champions Real Madrid.
This season, he has scored 16 league goals for his side and will finish the current campaign with his lowest number in La Liga for Atletico since his switch to the club in 2014.
Griezmann is a very good who can increase our chances in competing with top sides in the upcoming season should we sign him. I wonder who Jose Mourinho would shift attention to if this report are anything to go by, but I suggest we should not look too much into these transfer stories till the summer and see what will happen.
