According to reports, Manchester United are ready to pay £31m to sign Atalanta midfielder Bryan Cristante in January.
Jose Mourinho is one the look out for another central midfielder as he’s set to lose Marouane Fellaini with the Belgian international out of contract in June and yet to sign an extension.
The report says the Red Devils will cash-in on the Belgium international this winter rather than lose him for nothing at the end of the season and Mourinho has seemingly identified the Atalanta midfielder as the man he wants to replace him with.
The 21-year-old is currently on loan at Atalanta from Benfica and the Italian side are expected to trigger a £10m option to make the move permanent after he impressed during the first six months with the club.
However, TeamTalk, citing report from Portuguese outlet O Jogo claimed that the Red Devils are ready to offer the Italian club the chance to turn an instant £21m profit by paying the players £31m release clause.
The midfielder is predominantly a defensive midfielder who can also play further forward so he’d give our side some good options in the middle of park if he does get a deal agreed.
He could be open to the idea of joining Man United as Paul Pogba is one of idols so he’d probably jump at the chances of playing alongside Pogba at Old Trafford.
