Manchester United have been linked and interested in the signing of Arsenal’s and Germany international Mesut Ozil for quite some time now.
Last night, Man United defeated Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium and will now hope to continue their winning streak when they visit the Etihad on Sunday to take on Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side.
Prior to the EPL fixtures between the North London club and the Red Devils, Jose Mourinho was questioned about the prospect of signing Ozil and the ex-Chelsea and Real Madrid boss made no comment on the subject.
Still, as reported by the Daily Mail, Mourinho is keen on securing the services of Ozil for Man United, who was an integral part of his squad that won the La Liga title with Real Madrid in 2012.
The British outlet have mentioned that the Portuguese tactician does not want to spend £20m-£25m million in the January transfer window and is prepared to wait until next summer to sign the Germany World Cup winner.
Ozil’s current deal with the Gunners will expire next year and presently, the German star, according to Manchester Evening News, is earning around £154,000-a-week ($208,000-a-week).
The Daily Mail claimed that the Red Devils are also considering raiding the Gunners for Chile international Alexis Sanchez despite knowing he’s keen on joining Manchester City.
