Manchester United are eyeing a January move for Valencia star Carlos Soler and could offer former Chelsea star Juan Mata as part of deal to secure the signing Soler.
A report from Italian outlet has stated that Mourinho and the club’s hierarchy are growing increasingly keen on the 20-year-old midfielder and eye him as a replacement for Henrikh Mkhitaryan who looks likely to leave the club at the end of the season.
Further, the report adds that Soler has a spectacular €80m price-tag on his current deal with Valencia and the Red Devils could be tempted to offer the Mata as part of a swap deal to secure the signing of the talented midfielder.
Soler is a goal-scoring central midfielder who is currently making rounds in La Liga after series of impressive performances despite his tender age.
Jose Mourinho has recently subjected Mkhitaryan to a period out of the starting line-up and while the Armenian was handed a rare starting role against Southamptoon, he was unable to impress during a disappointing 0-0 draw against the Saints.
Further, a swap deal involving Juan Mata leaving Old Trafford is another suggestion that makes sense with the Spaniard having already enjoyed time at Valencia before moving to Chelsea in 2011.
