Manchester United are prepared to pay another club-record £95m to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio next year, according to reports making rounds in the British media.
The Daily Express are claiming the Old Trafford club are ready to cough out a mouth-watering fee to land the Serbian international as they look to add to their attacking options at the club.
The 22-year-old winger was linked with a move to the Premier League last summer and The Sport Review exclusively revealed that Liverpool were also interested on signing him back in June.
Now, however, the latest report on Milinkovic-Savic’s situation suggest that Mourinho’s side are leading the race for the Serbian signature as the January transfer window draws ever nearer.
The Red Devils ended up signing three players in the summer, after tying up deals for Victor Lindelof, Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic.
The same report adds that the club have been scouting the attacker on a number of occasions this season whilst also suggesting that Lazio president Claudio Lotito has sanctioned a £100m price-tag on his prized assets – and Manchester United are prepared to bid close to that asking price.
United are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks as the January transfer window approaches.
