If latest reports bears any fruit then, Antoine Griezmann has reportedly decided to sign for Manchester United this summer.
The French forward, whose side were thrashed 3-0 by Real Madrid in Tuesday’s Champions League semi-final first leg, has agreed personal terms with the Red Devils, according to reports coming from The Sun.
Per the source, the Atletico Madrid forward will earn £280,000 a week playing for United, giving him a basic salary of £14.56m.
The British outlet also claim that the French forward will agree a five-year deal, landing him £72.8m.
The Red Devils will pay a transfer fee of £89m, thus activating a buyout clause in the Frenchman’s contract with the Rojiblancos, add The Sun, who went on claiming that bonuses could see the overall cost of the deal rise to more than £170m.
Griezmann his undoubtedly an impressive player who will add depth to attack and this season, he has scored almost a goal in every La Liga game this season, bagging 16 goals in 33 appearances, while registering seven assists. His Champions League strike-rate is very similar – five goals and two assists in 11 starts.
Although the report does not mention what squad number Griezmann will take at Old Trafford, it is likely that he will keep the no.7 he current wears at Atletico, as that shirt is vacant at Old Trafford, following Memphis Depay’s sale in January.
