Real Madrid are reportedly preparing a whooping bid that can prise David De Gea away from Old Trafford with a €30m bid plus James Rodriguez included.
According to Don Balon, the Colombian ace has already reached an agreement on personal terms with the Premier League giants ahead of a summer move.
However, the lone issue that remains is finding a deal that the two clubs can agree upon and that’s where De Gea could become in discussions.
The report went on adding that Los Galaticos president Florentino Perez wants €60m for James Rodriguez, while our side is only willing to spend €40m. In turn, the alternative could be that Real Madrid offer their expensive 2014 signing and €30m in order to convince the Red Devils to part company with their first-choice shot-stopper.
David De Gea has been linked with a move back to his country for over two years now, and it’s a well-known fact that Keylor Navas isn’t living up to expectation at Bernabeu and they want him replaced.
Further, Rodriguez is expected leave Madrid having struggle for low playing time under Zinedine Zidane this season, and so from their perspective, this deal could make a lot sense.
On our side, it’s undoubtedly a little trickier. Jose Mourinho will surely want to keep hold of the Spaniard regardless of how well Sergio Romero has performed between the sticks as second-choice. David De Gea has established himself as a key figure in Manchester and one of the best goalkeepers in Europe.
However, the Spanish publication suggest that a deal could be negotiated and done this summer, but time will tell if the Colombian international will be swapping sides before the start of next season.
