Man Utd manager Jose Mourinho will look to visit Real Madrid one more time for a favour from the Los Blancos president Florentino Perez in his bid to sign Alvaro Morata.
With his contract at Old Trafford expiring this summer, he may well have played his last game for the club and so Mourinho must now identify and sign a replacement.
With Zlatan’s contract at Old Trafford set to expire this summer, the former Paris Saint-Germain forward could be out of the team until 2018.
While the two European giants could have other business to do this summer, Mourinho has seemingly set his sights on the Spanish forward to lead his line next season given that Ibrahimovic is now unlikely to be offered a new contract.
According to Spanish publication Don Balon, Jose Mourinho is hopeful he can cut a deal with former side over Alvaro Morata, who is currently unhappy with lack of playing time at the Bernabeu in his bit-part role behind France international Karim Benzema.
Despite Morata’s limited playing time, he has still managed to bag 17 goals in 36 appearances in all competitions, and with our side in urgent need of a clinical striker, Morata could be the answer.
Meanwhile, The Daily Star have claimed that Valencia midfielder Carlos Soler is of interest to Old Trafford too and they keen on preparing a £25m summer bid.
Soler has impressed despite United’s struggles this campaign, and it’s claimed that his agent Jorge Mendes has alerted Jose Mourinho to his talent.
Having seen the net three times in 18 La Liga appearances, the report added that Jose Mourinho has kept a close eye on the 20-year-old since, and has been left convinced over a possible move.
The Star note that Soler has a £25m release clause in his contract, but Valencia are hopeful of agreeing on new terms to increase that figure. However, United are confident that the Spain U19 starlet will snub that offer which in turn will help them secure his signature.
It seems like a little bit of a gamble on such a young player, but Mourinho will surely have done his homework.
