Manchester United transfer target Victor Lindelof has reportedly been left out of Benfica’s squad for tier League Cup clash with Vizela as his link to Old Trafford continues to rumbles on.
The 22-year-old Swedish international has heavily been linked with Jose Mourinho following reports that the Turkish side president had been in Manchester for talks with the Red Devils over their star man.
He was left out of Benfica’s squad earlier this week for a game against Pacos de Ferreira and he’s again been omitted despite being fit to play for his side.
The former of centre-back pairing Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo is said to have cooled United’s interest in Lindelof but Jose Mourinho’s side could move for the Swedish international this month through fear of rivals joining the race in the summer.
Lindelof’s absence means he hasn’t played for the club in over two weeks and it’s bound to increase speculation that he’s heading for the Theatre of Dreams.
