According to The Daily Mirror, Manchester United are willing to pay up to £40million to sign Danny Rose from Tottenham this January, and will also offer Luke Shaw as part of the deal.
Rose and Shaw, whose total value on Transfermarkt is £41.4million, have both fallen out of favour with their respective clubs this season. Rose made comments in the press regarding manager Maurico Pochettino and has only just returned from injury, while Shaw is not considered good or fit enough by Jose Mourinho.
Ranked among the best full back in the Premier League over the last two season, Danny Rose has been an integral part of Spurs rise from Europa League spots to genuine Champions League contenders.
Man United are desperately in need of a new left-back who can match the superb abilities of Antonio Valencia, who plays for the club at the right-back at Old Trafford, and Rose would be the perfect fit.
Much like Rose, Luke Shaw, the former Southampton left-back is certainly a talented player in his position. However, since breaking his leg against PSV Eindhoven at the start of the 2016/17 season, the young Englishman has failed to find his form again.
A move to Tottenham would cetainly reignite Shaw’s career, especially with Mauricio Pochettino’s sympathetic, motivating style of management.
