Manchester United signing Alvaro Morata this summer could spark an o be incredibly costly to the club, with the transfer fee and his contract combine reportedly costing £180m.
Despite netting 20 goals in 43 appearances across all competition last season, the Spanish international is out for a more brilliant role elsewhere moving forward as he remains largely a back-up option for Real Madrid.
Having also seen his stock risen during his two-year spell at Juventus, it’s certain that Morata can be a prolific scorer in the right team, and it could be United who offer him that opportunity.
According to The Sun though, Morata’s going to be extremely expensive. It’s claimed that the reigning European champions are demanding £90m for him as a transfer fee, while the Spaniard will mail a five-year contract worth £350,000-a-week.
That’s a sensational £180m in total, a huge fee of money to spend on a player who has to prov himself in the Premier League, as the pressure will certainly be on him in the coming season and beyond to score goals regularly and lead the United line.
More so after Zlatan Ibrahimovic was release, he will spearhead the attack, and so he’ll certainly have to live up expectations and his price-tag.
As far as our side article are concerned, the financial side of things won’t arguably make too much of a difference for us, as shown last summer when will broke the transfer record for Paul Pogba.
Having already signed Victor Lindelof this summer, it’s likely to be just the start of their spending, but it remains to be seen whether or not Morata is the next in line to move to Old Trafford, and how that in turn affects the club’s transfer budget.
With Champions League football returning next season, Jose Mourinho will be desperate to bolster his squad as they look to compete on various fronts moving forward.
